Happy Halloween,
Attached is my latest Walk Talk, the Future Events for November and a letter outlining the bylaws approval process. Enjoy some light reading.
The Yachats Coastal Gems are deactivated with just a minor detail or two left. Many thanks to Maryann Brown for guiding the club to the finish line, Mary Reed for managing the financial transactions, and the supporting clubs that are picking up these fine coastal events. The Turnaround Trekkers will be handing over their coastal events to the Columbia River Volkssport Club on January 1st at which time they'll begin their deactivation. It is a great sadness to see these and several other clubs closing, but their legacy will continue through the great walks they developed over the years.
I want to mention one event cancellation for the Portland area walkers and that is the Christmas Ships walk. Due to COVID restrictions and the lack of a safe starting point, the event is cancelled with regrets and moved to 2021.
The New Year's Eve and Day walks in the Portland/Vancouver area are cancelled; however, year round events in the area will be used on those dates for group walks.
Regards,
Tom
