On "Choosing Civility", See the 2/09/2011 posting on http://wayneholloway.wordpress.com/.

Don’t Gossip. And don’t accept when others choose to do so.

Show Respect. Honor other people and their opinions, especially in the midst of a disagreement.

Be Agreeable. Look for opportunities to agree; don’t contradict just to do so.

Apologize. Be sincere and repair damaged relationships.

Give Constructive Criticism. When disagreeing, stick to the issues and don’t make a personal attack.

Take Responsibility. Don’t shift responsibility and blame onto others; share disagreements publicly.

Above all, we must always act for the good of the volkssporting community. We expect that the welfare of our sport will be treated more importantly than personal issues.

Curt Myron, President

Attend the book signing for Laura O Foster’s most recent book, The Portland Stairs BookPowell’s Books on Hawthorne, Thursday, February 24, 7:30 pm.

From Laura's blog on 01/03/2011, learn about the Portland Poetry Posts scattered about the Grant Park streets and it's neighborhood and the Mount Tabor neighborhood.

Inspired by these posts, a Portlander with an interest in mobile technology started the Portland Poetry Box Google Group:  http://groups.google.com/group/PortlandPoetryBox/topics

This then lead to another Portlander to work on an interactive iPhone app as part of the City of Portland’s Civic App to make public data more accessible, such as the poetry posts.

Read about the poetry posts here:
